Welcome to the holding site for ‘Zografia Films’.
Zografia Films was founded in 2006 by Alex MacMillan, Freddie Smith and Jonathan Busby. At the time, the company’s remit was to informally produce short films.
In 2007 we began a feature length psychological thriller, ‘Convert’. After extensive shooting during 2007 and 2008, the production took a hiatus as Zografia Films’ members pursued other projects. However, we hope to resume production and have the film completed in early 2012.

In the summer of 2011, Alex MacMillan and members of the Brighton Film School began shooting select scenes from a TV-Feature called ‘Never Alone’. Whilst not a Zografia Films production, many of the company’s resources were utilised. The 35mm project remains in production under the SPV ‘Motif Pictures’ (www.motif-pictures.com). Jonathan Busby assisted as acting coach and Freddie Smith provided still photography.
A detective is framed for the killing of a prime suspect in a missing child investigation. With the assistance of his only confidant, his son, Piotr must prove his innocence before his furtive and manipulative second in command destroys not only his career, but his family life too. Set in a provincial English town, 'Never Alone' draws out the extremes to which we go in the name of self-preservation and maintaining self-worth, at the expense of others. |

Zografia Films’ earlier works include a collection of shorts, such as ‘Esse Est Percipi’ (2006) and ‘Life Itself’ (2007). Plans are underway to rebrand Zografia Films for the above mentioned films and the three of us are constantly working collaboratively and independently on a variety of other ventures.
